Alan Silvestri Soundtracks & Film Scores

Alan Silvestri is an American composer and conductor best known for his long creative partnership with director Robert Zemeckis. Born in New York City and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, he studied briefly at Berklee College of Music before beginning his career scoring low-budget films and television in the 1970s, including a long stint on the series CHiPs.

His collaboration with Zemeckis began on Romancing the Stone (1984) and continued across the director's films, producing some of Silvestri's most iconic music — the propulsive main theme of the Back to the Future trilogy and the Oscar-nominated score for Forrest Gump (1994). He is equally associated with muscular action and science-fiction scoring, from Predator (1987) and The Abyss (1989) to blockbuster work for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including The Avengers and Avengers: Endgame.

A versatile and melodically direct composer, Silvestri has also written widely admired music for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Cast Away, The Polar Express (which brought him a Grammy for the song "Believe"), and the television series Cosmos, among many others. With more than a hundred film scores to his name, he remains one of Hollywood's most recognisable and enduring musical voices.
